Hi everybody, this is Brady. We are LIVE from the Compass Tower!
Well, you’re asking what is the Compass Tower? Compass Tower is a safe space on the Internet for us to gather together and talk about online marketing, digital marketing, and content creation. If you’re a marketer who works in a small team, in a small company who needs some help with content creation, marketing of any kind, email marketing, social media, marketing ads, paid ads, social, you know, PPC, all of that stuff. I can help you with that.
I’ve been doing it for 15 years and I started this live show and also Compass tower as a place for me to be able to help other people who are in a similar situation. Who are marketers, who may be working alone or in a small team or have a very specific task within a team, who need to just bounce ideas off of, help elevate you to the next piece.
I call it the Compass Tower because out here in the American West, there are a lot of national parks and forests and things like that. And they erect these towers, these fire watch towers. And if you’ve never been inside of one, you climb up to this elevated perspective and you are able to look across the entirety of the forest and within the central piece of the tower, there is a map of the area that is visually perceptible, like to the horizon right and beyond. And within that there’s a giant compass and a map and you’re able to look out across the wider landscape to spot things that may be happening, fires, things like that, and correlate it within the map. And then radio that in for fire extinguishing services and things like that. So it was something that I did a lot as a kid because I grew up in Boy Scouts and camping and we would often visit these towers and there’s always a fire ranger there or someone from the National Park Service always monitoring. It’s a kind of like a 24 hour kind of job, and they would take shifts.
But that was something that was very impactful for me, was being able to climb these towers, see what you can see, and then look down and correlate that to a map and translate it into something that is actionable.
That is why I created the Compass Tower, because that is the kind of perspective that I want to bring to the digital marketing world. And that’s something that happens a lot of times as you get into these positions at these companies and suddenly the world shrinks a lot. And so you lose that outside perspective. And at the same time, digital marketing is all about holding and keeping attention.
So you want to be able to get people out and look up and see. And so that’s what I want to do. I want to help you get above the forest of noise, and hopefully, we can connect and meet and share and solve your problems. You know, let’s put our minds together. I want this to be a collaborative thing and I want this to be a safe space where you can feel like you can vent and you’re like, I have this problem…
